Pioneering Women in the Light: A Cinematic Tribute to Kleoni Flessa

To celebrate International Women's Day, the Peloponnese International Documentary Festival and the Greek Documentary Association (HellasDoc) present a free-admission, two-day cinematic tribute dedicated to the acclaimed director Kleoni Flessa. Highlighting pioneering and historically marginalized female figures through three of her iconic films ("The First Women Teachers", "Seascape", "Eleni Boukoura-Altamoura"), the event will take place in the presence of the director and distinguished guest speakers (I. Athanasatou, V. Malama, A. Papathanasiou) on Saturday, March 7 (18:00-21:00) at the Philharmonic Amphitheatre in Kalamata, and on Sunday, March 8 (16:00-19:00) at the Greek Film Archive in Athens, where the screening will be accompanied by live music from Nena Venetsanou and Iraklis Paschalidis.
