A night of visibility, empathy, and real-life stories about Type 1 Diabetes. As part of the regional screenings of the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, the Kalamata Creative Documentary Center, in co-organization with the Diabetes Association of Messinia "GLYKIA MESSINIA" and its president, Athanasia Karounou, invite you to the open-air screening of the exceptional experiential documentary "We Live Among You" (Zoume Anamesa Sas). The film made its official premiere at the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. The Film:
"We Live Among You" (2026, 54 min) opens a window into the daily lives of people living with Type 1 Diabetes. It is a deeply experiential, inclusive, and moving piece, yet lighthearted and entertaining, steering clear of rigid medical clichés. It aims to educate the public, foster empathy, and bring social visibility to a "sweet community" of millions worldwide.

The screening will take place in the presence of the director, Maria Katsikadakou (a.k.a. Maria Cyber). Following the film, three members of the "Glykia Messinia" Association will take the stage to share their own authentic stories: A parent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, describing the daily routines and caregiving challenges.An adult living, working, and thriving with Type 1 Diabetes.A child with Type 1 Diabetes, sharing their own genuine perspective.Find more information at glykouli.gr.
