This is an almost “impossible mission.” Then a Serbian homophobic gangster shows up and forces him to guard Belgrade Pride, but no one is willing to stand by his side. He is therefore forced to travel throughout the former Yugoslavia to create a team of people willing to expose themselves to a society rife with inequality and human rights violations.

THE PARADE, in a tragicomic way, tells the story of the ongoing battle between two worlds in contemporary post-war Serbian society. The characters’ behaviors and scenes in the film are related to real events that took place at the first Belgrade Pride in 2010, which, after an attack by far-right extremists, ended in bloodshed with over 100 people injured. The film was condemned by the then president of Serbia himself. Belgrade Pride has been held regularly since 2014, but always with a significant police presence.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 28
THE PARADE – PARADA
Comedy, Drama | 15+ | 2011 | Ser | 115’
Director: Srdjan Dragojevic
Cast: Nikola Kojo, Milos Samolov, Hristina Popovic
21:30 | Vista Marina, 8 Salaminos Street, Kalamata Marina | General admission €5, €3 for unemployed persons, students, and large families, free for persons under 18

The event will be in the Serbian language with Greek subtitles

[249
68
129

post-2435","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","location-marina-garden-bistro-en","event_category-movies","thematic_areas-culture-en
["GET
