Spanidea 2024 – A two-day event in Mikromani

The Municipality of Kalamata and the Association of Apantachou Mikromani People are co-organizing two days of honourary events in Mikromani on September 7th and 8th, 2024, dedicated to the memory of Admiral Athanasios Spanidis.

According to the programme, on Saturday, September 7th, at 09:00, a memorial service will be held at the Holy Church of Agia Varvara in Mikromani, followed by the laying of wreaths. At 20.30 in the evening, an event will be held at the Kalamata War Museum, where the admiral’s life and contribution to the homeland will be presented, accompanied by exhibition material from his archive.

The events will continue on Sunday, September 8th, at 18.00 in the afternoon, with the “Spanidia 2024” road race and will end at 21.00 in the evening with a Festival of Traditional Dances, where the dance sections of the “Psiloritis” Cretan Association of Messenia, the Association of Thessaloi, the Cultural Association of Messina, and the Association of Apantachou Micromani People.
