The 12th Kalamatian Carnival reaches its climax, with the big carnival parade on Sunday 2 March 2025. A large number of visitors are expected during the three-day event in the Messinian capital, with occupancy rates in accommodation reaching -according to reports from tourism people- 100%.

Faris of Greek mythology is the demigod, son of Hermes and Philodamia, who founded the ancient Homeric city of Pharaoh at the site of present-day Kalamata.
The Faris Public Benefit Corporation of the Municipality of Kalamata is the official body of the Municipality’s policy in the area of culture and social policy.
The culture axis includes the areas of music, dance, visual arts, theatre and artistic events, while the social policy axis includes the area of social solidarity.
