The internationally award-winning short film “The Silent Synthetic Symphony: A Human-AI Collaboration”, directed by Stathis Giannakopoulos, is being screened for the first time in its creator’s hometown, Kalamata.
The film will be presented at the event “3C: The Last Act” and is open to the public. The screening will be accompanied by parallel activities: a live dance theatre performance inspired by the theme of the film, as well as video clips from its journey to festivals around the world, and video commentary on the film by viewers and directors.
A few words about the play
In a bleak yet fascinating environment, artificial intelligence meets the vast human mind and they join forces to create a science fiction musical and dance piece. With the literary echoes of the great author William Shakespeare and the artificial voice of actor Alan Rickman, an otherworldly narrative about Man’s relationship with Silence is created.
Released in 2024, the film is the fruit of a collaboration between artists and scientists in Kalamata, where the filming was entirely done. With participations in more than 30 international festivals in America, Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and Canada, it has been distinguished as an example of innovation and quality, winning 7 first prizes and important distinctions in prestigious artistic institutions such as the Cannes International Film Festival – Dream of the Future (Best Dance Film, Best Director), the Robinson Film Awards (Best Music), the International Experimental Film Festival, the International Festival of Experimental Cinema, the International Film Festival of the World, and the International Film Festival of the World.
